With regret, the speaker for tonight’s scheduled meeting in Llandeilo of the E Carmarthenshire local group of the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales has had to cancel.\u00a0 So the meeting will not take place this evening.\u00a0 It will be rescheduled for a later date, to be decided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next meeting takes place on\u00a0Wednesday Mar 8th 2023 in the Vestry of the Capel Newydd Independent Chapel in Llandeilo at 7.30pm.<\/strong><\/s><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Denise Plume will talk about ‘The Carmarthenshire Bat Project \u2013 The Story So Far! ‘<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bats are important indicators of biodiversity and can tell us a lot about the state of the environment. They are top predators of common nocturnal insects and are sensitive to changes in land use practices. The pressures they face – such as landscape change, agricultural intensification, development, and habitat fragmentation are also relevant to many other wildlife species, making them excellent indicators for the wider health of the UK’s wildlife.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is plenty of free parking in the nearby Council car park, and refreshments afterwards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
