We are Carmarthen &amp; District Beekeeping Association. We are entirely charitable and non-profit making and invested in public engagement on many relevant environmental issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The imminent threat of the Yellow-Legged (Asian) Hornet will be not only a huge threat to all insect life, and therefore our food security, but is also a Public Health issue. The sting of these invasive non-native hornets can, and does, kill people. Four deaths were reported in Northern Europe last year. A single colony can devour up to 11kg of insect protein in a season&nbsp; &#8211; this is a coming Armageddon for our pollinators. But there are things we can do and information we must know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Paul Pearce, the Vice-Chair of our Welsh Beekeeping Association\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/wbka.com\/\">wbka.com<\/a>\u00a0will give a talk at Carmarthen&#8217;s Civic Hall on Saturday 16 May\u00a0 1.30pm for 2pm start &#8211; plenty of time for questions afterwards while you enjoy light refreshments (at a minimal charge to help defray the cost of the venue). Gall pigiad y corned anfrodorol ymledol hyn ladd pobl, ac mae\u2019n gwneud hynny. Adroddwyd am bedair marwolaeth yng Ngogledd Ewrop y llynedd. Gall un nythfa fwyta hyd at 11kg o brotein pryfed mewn tymor &#8211; dyma Armageddon sydd ar ddod i&#8217;n peillwyr.
